And
this is not to mention
the hard knocks we can
take to our confidence
and self image along the
way - from things such
as broken relationships,
divorce, losing our job,
illness, disabilities,
losing a loved one, etc.
However
the good news is that the
core issues causing the
loss in self-esteem can
be slowly but surely dissolved,
and your inner confidence
can be re-built , restored
and strengthened from inside
out.
Letting
Go of the Past - and
Creating a Fabulous
New Future
One
part of moving forward
also includes removing
blockages from the past which
may have been holding you
back.
As
these are released, more
and more you begin to notice
that your life begins to
open up to exciting new
opportunities.
These
opportunities either may not have
presented themselves in
the past, or you may have
simply been unable to fully
capitalize on them
at the time.
But
once these blockages are
cleared, the path
becomes clear to embrace
a new life of power, fun
and opportunity.
These
changes are generally not
easily made consciously -
as these inner transformations
to your self esteem occur
in the deep software of
the subconscious.
The
subconscious is the most
powerful (and permanent)
place to make the changes. Once
the inner changes are
made, the externals also
begin to shift, and life
becomes a new and unfolding
adventure of self-discovery.
There
are several additional
ways to help develop your
self esteem and inner confidence.
One
is regularly repeating
affirmations to yourself
in front of the mirror, which
is a rather confrontational
exercise which can be surprisingly
difficult.
Some
are unable to do this without
either laughing from embarrassment,
or from taking their fixed
gaze away from the reflection
of their own eyes, which
is a very important feature
of the exercise.
Silent
statements, often known
as affirmations or mantras, are
recited to yourself while
fixing your gaze upon
the reflection of your
own eyes in the mirror
(eg. reciting "I'm
perfect just as I am").
When
this exercise is used regularly,
it can cause a major internal
shift, which can even bring
tears as the buried toxic
emotions are finally unlocked
and released.
Regular visualization of
yourself achieving your
desired goals is
another powerful method,
where you close your
eyes and mentally relax,
before mentally imaging
yourself achieving your
deepest desires.
You
would also visualize yourself
being loved and accepted
by those who you may feel
harshly judge you, or who
you feel do not currently
accept you.
However,
these techniques can
prove to bring rather
slow and tedious progress, as
the conscious mind can
often resist these
methods (which it has
often done for an entire
lifetime) unless these
methods are performed
extremely often, correctly
and effectively.
Visualization
requires you to be in
an extremely relaxed
or meditative state, in
order to extract full
effectiveness from the
technique, which seems
to be the biggest stumbling
block for most people
trying visualization.
As
I had a massive number
of people coming to me
for this issue, I
