Your
most unhappy customers are your greatest source

people struggle with life balance simply because
they haven't paid the price to decide what is really
important to them. Information
technology and business are becoming inextricably
interwoven. I don't think anybody can talk meaningfully
about one without the talking about the other. We
are the creative force of our life, and through
our own decisions rather than our conditions, if
we carefully learn to do certain things, we can
accomplish those goals. If

have in this world is a reserve of knowledge, experience,

it’s about getting a balance. Whatever
you fear most has no power.. it is your fear that
has the power. What
I know is, is that if you do work that you love,
and the work fulfills you, the rest will come. It
is decidedly not true that "nice guys finish
last," as that highly original American baseball
philosopher, Leo Durocher, was alleged to have
said. It's
a fact that more people watch television and get
their information that way than read books. I find
new technology and new ways of communication very
exciting and would like to do more in this field. Actually
I did not invent the seven habits, they are universal
principles and most of what I wrote about is just
common sense. I am embarrassed when people talk
about the Covey Habits, and dislike the idea of
being some sort of guru. I
was a good amateur but only an average professional.
I soon realized that there was a limit to how far
I could rise in the music business, so I left the
band and enrolled at New York University. Abundance
is not something we acquire. It is something we
tune into. You
know you are on the road to success if you would
do your job, and not be paid for it. What
material success does is provide you with the ability
to concentrate on other things that really matter.
And that is being able to make a difference, not

way to get started is to quit talking and begin

and produce excellent results, someone in the company
is going to take notice. Either you will get promoted
or your jerky boss will get the heave-ho. It happens
all the time. Financial
education needs to become a part of our national
curriculum and scoring systems so that it’s
not just the rich kids that learn about money..
it’s all of us. I've
found that luck is quite predictable. If you want
more luck, take more chances. Be more active. Show
up more often. You
can't know it all. No matter how smart you are,
no matter how comprehensive your education, no
matter how wide ranging your experience, there
is simply no way to acquire all the wisdom you
need to make your business thrive. Perhaps
the very best question that you can memorize and
repeat, over and over, is, “what is the most
valuable use of my time right now?” It's
much easier for me to make major life, multi-million
dollar decisions, than it is to decide on a carpet
for my front porch. That's the truth. We
create stress for ourselves because you feel like
you have to do it. You have to. I don't feel that

with clear, written goals, accomplish far more
in a shorter period of time than people without
them could ever imagine. Luck
is a dividend of sweat. The more you sweat, the
luckier you get. There
is so much media now with the Internet and people,

voices and people want to be heard. If
what you are doing is not moving you towards your
goals, then it's moving you away from your oals. Many

market share is bigger than BMW's or Mercedes's

numbers. There
is no way to prosperity, prosperity is the way. The
interesting thing is when we design and architect
a server, we don't design it for Windows or Linux,
we design it for both. We don't really care, as
long as we're selling the one the customer wants. People
often say that motivation doesn't last. Well, neither
does bathing.. that's why we recommend it daily. I
believe through learning and application of what
you learn, you can solve any problem, overcome
any obstacle and achieve any goal that you can
set for yourself. When
you confront a problem you begin to solve it. Part
of our essential humanity is paying respect to
what God gave us and what will be here a long time
after we're gone. The
Internet will help achieve "friction free
capitalism" by putting buyer and seller in
direct contact and providing more information to
both about each other. Leaders
need to be optimists. Their vision is beyond the
present. It
has been my experience that competency in mathematics,
both in numerical manipulations and in understanding
its conceptual foundations, enhances a person's
ability to handle the more ambiguous and qualitative
relationships that dominate our day-to-day financial
decision-making There
are many qualities that make a great leader. But
having strong beliefs, being able to stick with
them through popular and unpopular times, is the
most important characteristic of a great leader. In
today's knowledge-based economy, what you earn
depends on what you learn. Jobs in the information
technology sector, for example, pay 85 percent
more than the private sector average. The
way a team plays as a whole determines its success.
You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars
in the world, but if they don't play together,
the club wont be worth a dime. The
winners in life think constantly in terms of I
can, I will, and I am. Losers, on the other hand,
concentrate their waking thoughts on what they
should have or would have done, or what they can't
do.
